September 24 PDM - Go Beyond MRP with Actively Synchronized ReplenishmentWe will be holding our first PDM of the fall season next Wednesday, September 24, at the Coast Bellevue Hotel. This month's event will feature Chad Smith leading a discussion on Actively Synchronized Replenishment. Chad's work was featured as the Cover Story of the July / August Edition of the APICS Magazine Program DescriptionActively Synchronized Replenishment (ASR) was developed as an answer to MRP related challenges faced by manufacturers and supply chains in the 21st Century. It is a pull based inventory and materials management system that can be applied throuighout an enterprise or supply chain. It is particularly effective in enterprises that have complex bills of material, complex material synchronization issues or that are trying to implement pull-based manufacturing scheduling and execution methodologies like Lean or Drum-Buffer-Rope.
