APICS Puget Sound Sustainability Page

The Triple Bottom Line

Part of the Puget Sound chapter's commitment to sustainability was to enhance the way we see our accomplishments using not just financial performance but also looking at the social contribution and the environmental issues.

Financial Performance

The Chapter is financially sound with member dues and class tuition providing a surplus over the expenses of running the chapter. This areas is covered on our financial page. We have funds available to do things our members see as worth while.

Social Contribution

The Chapter has just over four hundred dues paying members. The members (not the financial bottom line) are the reason for the chapter to exist. We provide opportunities for networking and continuous development. Members attending three PDMs last year received a copy of the speaker's book as member dividends (Schonberger, Herbold, Langenwalter).

The Environment

Sustainability in our chapter means that in addition to being financially sound and providing social benefits for the members, we also work to ensure that both members and their companies are provided with the information they need to respond to issues in this area.

Director's Report

In January 2007, the board carried a motion to establish this new board position. The first year we fostered sustainability by providing information including three PDMs, a conference presentation, and in discussions in three region/district meetings. We also published articles in the APICS magazine and on line. In the coming year we plan to hold a one day seminar.

Member Sponsorship

The chapter board actively seeks way to provide value to our members. This year we are beginning to sponsor members to attend chapter functions. This could be based on merit or need. If there is an event you would like to attend and would like our sponsorship leave a message at our phone or send us an e-mail.
